Last week my staff and myself, celebrated The Alzheimer’s Society Cupcake with three days of baking, followed by a cake sale day on the fourth day. Staff went above and beyond, helping me to bake the cakes and ice them, then putting them in to hygienic bags so everything was Covid safe. We baked our hearts out between us all, and we finished baking by 3.30-4pm, finishing icing by about 6.30pm.
We had plenty of orders from staff within Amara Care, so the raising of the money was a team Amara Care effort! On the Thursday however, we put out a socially distanced table to sell cakes to the general public of our village, and a friend in the support bubble I am in with, from another Amara Care property came to help me sell cakes with my staff and we had a grand time and laughed a lot together! In the end we have raised £385 and we are all amazed and proud by the generosity of people in general.
It puts back your faith in humanity in a broken world, and will help lots of people to be helped by The Alzheimer’s Society……
