Meet Our Directors & Founders

Amanda Brock

Managing Director

BSc(open), DIP HSW(open), Cert. HP(open), Cmar MCMI, Advanced Dip. Dis. Psych

Amara Care has been supporting meaningful lives since Sept 2004 when we purchased Woodbine Farm in New Holland, North Lincolnshire. Since then, we have developed specialist 24-hour Supported Living services throughout North Lincolnshire and Lincolnshire using our Frankish Model of Trauma Informed Care.

Amara Care is a Home Care Service and the staff work hard to support people to reach their full potential. The services can be challenging at times, but through our knowledge of individuals and training our staff, we see people grow and develop. We look at the least restrictive support, promoting independence where we can. Many of the people we support move onto other housing with through-the-door support.

Dr. Pat Frankish

Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Director

Psy.D., M.Clin.Psychol., B.Sc(Hons),B.A.(Open), P.G.C.E., C.Psychol., FBPS,

Amara Care aims to provide Trauma informed Care for some complex people with a range of needs, including disabilities and personality challenges. We train our staff with several approaches, including “All Behaviour has Meaning”, which helps deepen their understanding, as well as an emotional developmental model (FAIT) that provides them with skills to facilitate further development. Together these approaches provide opportunities for service users to progress in their emotional development and hence manage their own distress better, leading to a more meaningful life. The net result is personal growth, often after years of being in stuck in a pattern of negative behaviour.
